Gur microbiota and metabolomics in child with autism spectrum disorder

Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often experience chronic gastrointestinal symptoms, including constipation and diarrhea. Previous studies have shown differences in gut microbiota between individuals with ASD and healthy controls of the same age, but differences in gut microbiota can vary based on cultural practices, diets, environments, and customs. In this study, we collected fecal samples from healthy individuals and children with ASD in the southeastern coastal region of China and conducted 16S rRNA gene sequencing and bioinformatics analysis to assess gut microbial characteristics.
