This dataset contains nuclear ribosomal DNA sequences of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and external transcribed spacer (ETS) regions of Sanicula fengjiensis (Apiaceae) from Fengjie County, Chongqing Municipality, China. The ITS dataset includes sequences from LHM1594_1, LHM1594_4, LHM1594_9, and MQG61, whereas the ETS dataset includes sequences from LHM1594_1, LHM1594_4, LHM1594_9, and LHM1098. These sequences were used for nrDNA-based phylogenetic analyses to evaluate the phylogenetic placement of S. fengjiensis and assess genetic consistency among sampled individuals. The dataset accompanies the revised manuscript describing S. fengjiensis as a new species based on morphological, plastome, and nrDNA evidence.
