Overview This feature service provides flood hazard area information from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) database. It captures flood risk classifications used to support Flood Insurance Studies and Flood Insurance Rate Maps, including areas associated with the 1-percent-annual-chance flood event, the 0.2-percent-annual-chance flood event, and areas of minimal flood risk. Feature Layer Flood Hazard Areas contains mapped flood zones and related insurance and elevation attributes used to identify flood-prone areas and support floodplain management, insurance review, and hazard awareness workflows. The layer includes effective date information, flood zone classifications, special flood hazard indicators, base flood elevation references, panel identification, and related map and area measurements. Source and Coverage The data is derived from FEMA Flood Insurance Studies, previously published Flood Insurance Rate Maps, flood hazard analyses, and updated mapping data where available. The service covers a coastal area in southern Florida and is published in Web Mercator coordinates with geographic content suitable for web mapping and operational GIS use.
