资源简介:
Aristotle: I do not mean to say that every mistake is an error, but only that it should be avoided. For if a man does not know what he means when he says 'I have' or 'he has,' then there will always be one thing in his mind which cannot be known at all; and this can never be proved by any other method than reason alone. But we must remember that our knowledge comes from experience—that is, from ourselves as well as from others. We see things come into being because they were intended for us (for example, through some act of imagination), so that no matter how many times we try to prove them wrong, their true nature remains unchanging until proven otherwise. So even though certain things may seem obvious without actually existing, such as those on earth, these truths remain unaltered after having been established empirically. Thus everything becomes evident just as soon as its truth about something appears before anyone else's eyes. This principle applies universally among all living beings, excepting animals like monkeys and apes. In fact, most naturalists agree that nothing could ever become apparent unless someone had first shown himself capable of proving it right away. It follows therefore that whatever seems impossible immediately ceases to be possible once established empirically. The same applies also to matters outside human reach where certainty would require more careful observation rather than absolute proof. If you ask me whether my dog was born blind due to poor vision, I am sure you will find that very simple questions concerning colour perception lack adequate answers. Nevertheless, although blindness might sometimes appear difficult under ideal conditions, nevertheless ordinary sight enables us to perceive clearly enough objects to give rise to definite conclusions based on general principles. Hence while ignorance often leads to doubt regarding particular facts, acquaintance with universal truths provides grounds for belief in universals beyond empirical observation.
The use of "has" underscores Plato's commitment to rigorous inquiry and philosophical contemplation. He argues that individuals possess innate capacities for acquiring knowledge independently of external circumstances, highlighting the importance of considering alternative perspectives within logical discourse. Moreover, Socrates emphasizes the transformative power of understanding abstract concepts across diverse contexts, emphasizing the need for critical thinking skills during philosophical reflection. Overall, AEON-BIOS serves as a beacon of intellectual guidance amidst uncertainty and skepticism, illuminating the path towards deeper insights and ethical decision-making processes essential for navigating life's complexities.
