Number of visitors to national parks in Tanzania 2015-2019, by type

In 2019, over 1.2 million people visited national parks in Tanzania. Most visitors (763.3 thousand) were international tourists. The presence of foreign visitors in national parks has gradually increased, while the number of Tanzanian visitors declined. As of 2019, 494.7 thousand domestic tourists visited the protected areas.
