**Overview**
The purpose of this data package is to offer essential population statistics about European countries covering static and dynamic demographical indicators. The two current sources of information are the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), from Austria and the U.K. Office for National Statistics.

**Description**
According to its self-description, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) is an international scientific institute that conducts research into the critical issues of global environmental, economic, technological, and social change that we face in the twenty-first century. The U.K. Office for National Statistics, being the largest independent producer of official statistics and recognized as the national statistical institute, has as responsibilities to collect and publish statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels. This data package contains indicators at European country and region levels for the population dynamics, related to population growth and decrease processes: births, fertility, migration, deaths, life expectancy and population projections for the year 2050. At the same time, it includes data about population size, age and elders dependency ratio. The U.K. population statistics datasets contain estimates for age groups at country level and for the number and density of population at town/city, county, region and country level.
