metabolically active fungi in air

In this study, the authors report that there are considerable amount of active fungi via RNA-based approach and imaging cytometry simultaneously. RNA-based amplicon showed that Ascomycota dominated the active community, whilst Basidiomycota have low metabolic activity in the active community. The structure of the active community of atmospheric fungi was significantly different from that of total community.
