This dataset contains experimental and simulated lithium-ion battery temperature data. The data were collected from a battery management system (BMS) via the CAN bus and used to evaluate a Kalman filtering approach for short-term temperature forecasting.The experimental dataset includes internal BMS temperature signals recorded during a 160-minute controlled charge\u2013discharge cycling test of a 48 V, 430 Wh lithium-ion battery pack. The simulation dataset represents a rapid-heating scenario designed to emulate early pre-runaway heating conditions.Each file provides timestamped temperature values at 5 s intervals and can be used to reproduce or extend the forecasting analysis for real-time thermal monitoring. The datasets support research in battery diagnostics, safety prediction, and embedded sensor data processing, particularly in storage and transport applications where early detection of abnormal heating is critical.
