Number of dairy cows in Indonesia 2023, by province and gender

In 2023, there were nearly 18,700 female dairy cows in East Java. In comparison, West Java only had slightly under 8,000 female dairy cows in that year. It is no wonder that East Java province accounted for more than 75 percent of Indonesia's milk production in the past years.
