to explore the correlation between starvation and nasopharyngeal microbiota, we imitated mild and excessive starvation state by fasting and BHBA solution intravenous infusion. Then we sampled and sequenced the nasopharyngeal microbiome and analyzed their differences in diversity, structure and function among the experimental and control groups using metagenomic shot-gun sequencing approach. Until now, there are few studies on the correlation between starvation and respiratory tract microbiome, our study will fill this knowledge gap, enrich our understanding on the microbiota of respiratory tract, and provide us with new prevention and treatment strategies for respiratory diseases.
