Infant antibiotic use impacts the intestinal microbiome and increases the risk of asthma. The impact of antibiotics in the fungal microbiome (mycobiome) of infants is unknown. We sequenced the ITS2 region in DNA extracted from infant (<6 month-old) fecal samples before and after antibiotic treatment. This study aimed to characterize the acute effect of antibiotic treatment on the infant microbiome.
