Chemical resistance is commonly observed in German cockroaches. This study aims to explore novel biological control strategies by characterizing and genetically engineering gut microbiota candidates from the midgut of the German cockroach. The secondary metabolites produced by these microbiota candidates are anticipated to impair the fitness of the cockroach.
