资源简介:
Temperature is one of the most important factors that govern species abundance and distribution.High temperature in soil and/ or water exerts pressure on microbial species leading to the selection of specific flora capable of tolerating and surviving heat stress.Microbial diversity in hot springs is dictated by environmental physicochemical characteristics. Microbial communities in high-temperature environments are often dominated by just several types of microorganisms ,and in general are significantly less diverse than lower temperature habitats. Thus, geothermal systems are considered as valuable models for establishing linkages between genomic potential and environmental parameters, and for understanding environmental controls on community structure and function in extreme ecosystem . Metatranscriptomics and metaproteomics both measure in situ gene expression,as opposed to the genomic potential, like metagenomics. In this work we analyzed the sequences obtained from metatranscriptome analysis of soil sample collected from alkaline and mesophilic hot springs of Odisha,India for determining the properties of indigenous microbial populations and the composition and structure of microbial communities in natural environments.
