EDIA – Global Bird Monitoring Program of the Alqueva Dam (EFMA) Secondary Irrigation Network, Irrigation Block Alvito-Pisão and Cuba IBA: Bird Atlas of population trends regarding the land-use changes [winter/spring 2021-2022]

The dataset contains records of all birds collected collected in the area of the Secondary Irrigation Network of the Alqueva Dam (Block A: Alvito-Pisão) and in the Important Bird Area (IBA) of Cuba, in the framework of a “Bird Atlas” relating population densities and land use changes, performed within the General Bird Monitoring Plan of the area, promoted by EDIA, S.A. Data were collected in the spring and winters of 2021-2022, in 52 sampling squares of 1x1 km (UTM grid), distributed in the area affected by the Irrigation Block (31 “impact” squares) and in a control area (21 “control” squares), stratified by habitat. A total of 18870 contacts was obtained, for 124 species of birds.
