Arachis hypogaea (peanut or groundnut, a tetraploid) is an important crop of oil and protein supply cultivated globally especially in Asia and Africa. Unfortunately, the whole genome sequence of fine structure has not yet disclosed which greatly retards genetic enhancement. Here we report the generation of a high-quality genome sequence for peanut by single-molecule real-time sequencing combining with chromosome conformation capture and genetic maps.
