Whole genome resequence data of Chantecler chickens which can adapt cold environment

we re-sequenced the whole genome of 10 Chantecler chickens, a local breed in Quebec, Canada, for cold adaptation studies of poultry. DNA was extracted from the blood of each individual using the standard phenol-chloroform protocol. Paired-end libraries were constructed and all libraries were sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq platform. Our study makes up for a lack of research on local chickens in North America. Our data and research enrich the world poultry resource bank and provide resources for population genetics and functional genomics.
