The Daxigou Meteorological Station was established in June 1958. It is situated on the mountainside of Mount Tian'ger in Daxigou, Urumqi County (adjacent to Glacier No. 1 at the Headwaters of the Urumqi River of the Tianshan Mountains), at an altitude of 3543.8 meters. As a national Class A arduous meteorological station, it primarily conducts cloud and fog physics experiments and climate monitoring.
