MADS-domain transcription factors (TF) are critical in determining floral cell fate and floral organ identities. However, their function molecular mechanisms are still poorly understood. Here, we show that effective DNA-binding in closed chromatin and target gene regulation of APETALA1 (AP1), a key floral MADS-box TF requires tetramerisation, indicating the fundamental role of tetrameric MADS-box TFs in floral cell fate programming. Overall design: MNase-seq were generated with seedling tissues induced by dexamethasone for 24 hours for AP1 expression. In addition,same amount of mock-treated seedlings were collected as a control. Three biological replicates were generated.
