PCRPi-DB is a database of computationally annotated hot spots in protein interfaces. It is well stablished, following the seminal work by Clackson and Wells and subsequent research, that only a portion of the interface residues that mediates protein-protein interactions contribute the most to the energy of the association, i.e. hot spot. The identification of hot spots in protein interfaces is therefore an important and relevant question in Biology and has clear applications in drug discovery and protein design.
