VPRS 4007 Papers of the Asistant Registrar (Research and Planning)

The main functions reflected are to do with financial planning. A large part of the collection consists of statistical collections and working papers, with statistical data aimed at providing information to the TEC for triennial submissions, to Committees of inquires, e.g. Nurse education and training and the Partridge Committee, to various smaller surveys, e.g. Graduate Careers Council and Output of secondary teachers.The assistant Registrar also provided the secretariat for the following SCV Committees, some papers of which are housed in this collection:Planning Committee and the Policy Review sub-committee,Master Planning Committee,Course Approvals Committee,Student Selection Committee,Computer Policy Advisory Committee and it's predecessors.Some papers (mainly committee papers) were under control, some were loose in manila folders and some were entirely uncontrolled. The loose papers have been gathered together in broad subject groups and given a general title as some means of identification. (Each of these files has been asterisked and "May 1980" written beside the proposed title). In all of these cases the papers were generally housed together. No attempt has been made at any re-arrangement so that dates and topics tend to be mixed.Nothing has been removed from the collection except some obvious duplications and a few published documents. A good deal of original correspondence is included, with working papers, drafts ect. Copies of the original documents may be on Registry files and in official committee papers, but generally the Registry system seems not to have been used.All the committee papers have been left as part of this collection. Some may contain the only surviving documents.
