A deep understanding of halophilic bacteria that produce hydrolytic enzymes has broad relevance to biotechnological sectors, including marine biomass conversion and plastic biodegradation. Here, we investigated the hepatopancreas and gut microbiome of the oniscidean isopod Tylos ponticus associated with beached leaves of the seagrass Posidonia oceanica (Posidonia banquette).
