The data are measured by a polarization optical particle counter, which measures the intensity of light scattering by atmospheric aerosol particles and the depolarization ratio to determine the particle size, shape and concentration. The data are classified into mineral particles, deliquescent fine particles, and deliquescent coarse particles based on the particle size and the depolarization ratio, and the number and mass concentrations are derived.
