This river suffers from sewage pollution resulting from inflows of sewage from neighbouring buildings that have no sewage system, or stormwater system as well as informal settlements along the riverbanks. Therefore, a potential reservoir and vehicle for transmission of pathogenic bacteria and poses an undeniable threat to public health.
