Gene database of Bacillus thuringiensis ATCC 10792

<i>Bacillus thuringiensis</i> is a Gram-positive, soil dwelling bacterium that can serve as a biopesticide due to the action of endotoxins that it secretes. Capable of sporulation, spores of <i>B. thuringiensis</i> could come together with protein crystals of endotoxins to form bipyramidal crystals. Though the annotated genome sequence of <i>B. thuringiensis</i> is available, much remains to be known about this bacterium, particularly the pathogenesis mechanism when it becomes a parasite inside caterpillar, moths, or mosquitoes. This work reports the gene database of <i>B. thuringiensis</i> ATCC 10792 obtained by parsing the annotated genome sequence obtained from Genbank. Comprising gene name, gene function and gene sequence of all genes in the genome of <i>B. thuringiensis</i>, the resource should find use in locating putative targets for molecular cloning or loss of function analysis in efforts to identify the molecular effectors that partake in pathogenesis of the bacterium.
