In this paper, we examined mercury concentrations in blood and feathers from juvenile Semipalmated sandpipers (Calidris pusilla) and semipalmated plovers (Charadrius semipalmatus) staging in Atlantic Canada during southbound migration. We assessed the potential influence of breeding origin, fueling status, and diet on mercury burdens.
