Jiangsu Province is located in the core area of the Yangtze River Delta and is one of the regions with the fastest socio-economic development and highest level of urbanization in China. Due to the impact of rapid urbanization and climate change, the carbon dynamic assessment in Jiangsu Province has significant uncertainty. This study utilized high-resolution climate data to drive the biogeochemical model AEM, and utilized station volume data to optimize, validate, and parameterize the model, constructing a dataset of organic carbon pools (vegetation carbon, soil organic carbon) in Jiangsu terrestrial ecosystems. This dataset spans from 1979 to 2018 and involves four types of ecosystems in Jiangsu, including forests, grasslands, paddy fields, and dry land. The region covers the entire Jiangsu area. The study compared and verified the simulation results with the measured site data, and found that the simulation results were highly consistent with the measured results. This dataset provides data support for understanding the carbon cycle dynamics and maintaining ecosystem stability in the rapidly developing eastern developed regions under the background of global change.
