Here, we demonstrated that the signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (Stat1) is essential for Schwann cell (SC) differentiation. To identify genes directly targeted by Stat1, we performed chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing (ChIP-Seq) in differentiating rat SCs.
