Our study aimed on identifying the effects of short-term flooding on the microbial communities (protists inclusive microfungi) of both habitat types, freshwater and soil. As flooding provide one possible route for the organismic exchange, we focused besides the general community patters on the immigration of allochtonous taxa.Experiments were conducted in mesocosms called AquaFlows.
