Between 2006 and 2023, the leading distribution channel for life insurance premiums was bancassurance, which refers to insurance products sold by banks through a partnership with an insurance company. In 2023, bancassurance accounted for 66 percent of the total life insurance premiums in France, while the remaining 34 percent were sold by insurance companies.
