IsoSeq long-read RNA sequencing of feather samples of eastern black-eared wheatear and cyprus wheatear

We sequenced total RNA from follicles of regrowing feathers in eastern black-eared (Oenanthe melanoleuca) and cyprus wheatear (Oenanthe cypriaca). The aim of the study was to identify differential isoform and gene expression related to feather color. Sequencing was perfomed using the PacBio Kinnex kit to obtain long-read Iso-Seq data. Multiple follicles were pooled in a total of 10 pools of matching feather color. The 10 pools were distributed on 3 Revio SMRT cells.
