VPRS 12143 License Receipt Book

One of the key responsibilities of the License Branch of the Department of the Treasurer was to issue license forms to Licensing Courts established throughout Victoria. The various types of license forms were then authorised and issued to successful applicants at court.This series consists of a receipt book recording the amount of all license forms forwarded to Licensing Courts throughout Victoria. When forwarding the forms, the Branch completed a receipt in triplicate. Two copies were forwarded to the Clerk of Courts receiving the forms, who was required to sign and return one copy to the Branch, acknowledging receipt. The Branch retained the third copy as its own record of license distribution.This series consists of the third copies of the triplicate receipts that were retained by the License Branch. They contain details of the amounts of particular licenses that were forwarded to Licensing Courts.VPRS 12141 238B Licenses Register and VPRS 12142 Miscellaneous Licenses Register contains summary details of the amounts of licenses that were forwarded to Licensing Courts.
