Genomic sequence capture of Bglu-1 and full-length transcriptome sequencing in Picea abies and Picea glauca

Acetophenone pathway, which produces piceol and pungenol, is important for insect resistance in white spruce trees Picea glauca. A probe set (Picea_hung_p1.0) is designed to target Bglu-1, Ugt5, and putative single-copy genes. Incoporating long-insert sequence capture on the megagenomes and full-length transcript construction of P. abies and P. glauca, we have characterised the gene forms of Bglu-1 and Ugt5, validated the single-copy genes, and quantified their copy numbers.
