Both the plant-derived C and soil-derived C can regulate soil microbial community, and the inalienable effect of the two forms of C in turn influence the decomposition of soil organic matter. In terms of different plant species, however, the priming effect may be positive, negative or neutral , which may reflect different microbial biomass and community structure respond to plant-derived C and soil-derived C. Considering the overwhelming same amount of more abundant soil-derived C, we hypothesize that the effects of planted-derived C from different plants in the same soil on microbiota may be attenuate by soil-derived C.
