A CRITICAL STUDY OF PROBLEMS OF ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT OF JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYAS IN MAHARASHTRA STATE

Universalization of education and quality education is the need of the hour in our country. If<br>we want our country to compete with the progressive countries, the children with special talents or<br>aptitudes should be provided the opportunity to proceed at a faster pace through quality education,<br>irrespective of their capacity to pay for it. For this, the central Government has started 'National Talent<br>Search' examination since 1964, all over India. With the same aim, that is, to develop the natural abilities<br>of these intelligent students, the national education policy,1986 has pointed out the need for setting up<br>pace-setting schools which came to be known as 'Navodaya Vidyalayas' or Jawahar Navodaya<br>Vidyalayas. Currently, there are approximately 593 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across India. To<br>encourage and increase the number of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in the country for quality<br>development in education, it is necessary to study the problems of administration and management and<br>find corrective measures to solve them. So the researcher selected the topic "A critical study of problems<br>of administration and management of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Maharashtra State."
