This study investigated batch experiments, column simulations, and kinetic modeling to elucidate how citric acid (CA), a representative LMWOA, mediated As release and speciation transformation through dual roles as a ligand and electron shuttle. We measured and analyzed pH, Eh, Total As, As(III), As(V), Fe(II), Fe(III), ROS including H2O2, .OH, O2.- to uncover ROS generation at the interface of redox fluctation under citric acid addtion.
