Murid Rodents from Caraga Region, Philippines: Their Helminths and Potential Role in the Transmission of Schistosoma japonicum

This study was conducted to describe S. japonicum infection in rats in seven municipalities of the Caraga Region in Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Norte. A total of 74 rats were collected using cage traps placed in selected rice fields within these municipalities. Captured rats were transported for dissection and tissue digestion for collection of parasites.
