Microzooplankton data series (1997–2009) from the LTER-MC site (LTER_EU_IT_061, Gulf of Naples, Mediterranean Sea)

The database contains abundance data for mixotrophic and heterotrophic microzooplankton, expressed as cells L⁻¹. Samples were collected at the LTER-MC station in the Mediterranean Sea and cover the period 1997–2009. To harmonize the full time series and account for changes in taxonomic resolution through time, taxa were aggregated into consistent morpho-taxonomic categories.
