Early volumes in this series note gaol number, ship and year of arrival, name of prisoner, offence, sentence, where and when convicted and details of discharge. Later volumes consist of duplicate and triplicate copies and record name, birth date, sentence and type of discharge. These are bookfast triplicate copies of discharge entries. The original record was sent to the Prisoner Index Records Section and the duplicate to the Research Section. Each entry records: admission number; name; date and place of birth; sentence; how discharged; and notes if a duplicate description card has been created at Head Office.
