Through this study we recorded the composition of microbial communities inhabiting antarctic snow during the formation of colored snow algae blooms. A total of 12 snow samples were sequentially collected in four sites in the surroundings of O'Higgins Base (Antarctic platform) and analyzed using metabarcoding (16S and 18S rRNA genes).
