Accountability and international responsibility of the UN operations

The present paper aims to highlight and give some answers regarding the role of the United Nations (UN) in relation to the responsibility and accountability of the related peacekeeping operations. The questions and answers are connected with the following arguments: evolution, prospects, past, and practice of the UN framework. There are many open issues. The past has shown us that the operations and international responsibility due to the crimes assessed have created many problems for the image of the UN as well as to what is most interesting for the reparation of victims and the protection of human rights.
