Rice leaf color index is a critical agricultural indicator that reflects the nutritional status of rice plants and is directly associated with crop growth and final yield. By accurately predicting the leaf color index, farmers can reasonably adjust fertilization strategies, improve nitrogen use efficiency, reduce environmental pollution, and enhance economic benefits. This model is developed to uncover the correlation between rice growth conditions and leaf color index. Rice data was collected via physical and chemical experiments and field surveys. Data preprocessing was first conducted, including data cleaning and feature selection, followed by data standardization. Features including planting density (plants/mu), disease incidence (%), disease resistance score, plant height (cm), panicle length (cm), pest and disease type, growth period (days), and tiller number are input into the support vector machine (SVM) model. The model is optimized by adjusting parameters such as the regularization coefficient C and kernel function parameters, and cross-validation is employed to ensure the model's generalization capability. Finally, the trained model is used to predict the leaf color index of new datasets, aiding in the formulation of prevention and control strategies.
