This dataset contains the list of USPTO patents in space-related technologies. Only patents that are coded as space-related according to at least one classification method are included in the dataset. Please refer to the citation paper for information on how this dataset is assembled.

The variables are as follows:
patnum: USPTO patent number
space_score: Score (between 0 and 1) obtained from the logistic regression to predict proximity to space technologies
fyear: Filing year of the patent
space_transport_narrow: Flag (0-1) for whether the patent belongs to the Space Transportation (narrow) group
space_transport_extended: Flag (0-1) for whether the patent belongs to the Space Transportation (extended) group
broader_space_tech: Flag (0-1) for whether the patent belongs to the Broader Space Technologies group
category_code: Code for the category of space technology within the Dealroom taxonomy
category_name: Name of the category of space technology within the Dealroom taxonomy
