Parkes observations for project P867 semester 2014APRS01

Fermi has revolutionized our understanding of the GeV sky, and given us a map for finding new radio millisecond pulsars (MSPs). In the past four years, radio astronomers and LAT team members have discovered 56 MSPs in searches of Fermi-LAT unassociated sources. The vast majority of these pulsars were discovered and followed-up by the "Pulsar Search Consortium" from sources detected in the first and second year Fermi all-sky catalogs. Now, the LAT team is preparing a new catalog with significant improvements in both the gamma-ray event classification and modeling of the gamma-ray backgrounds. A preliminary version of this new catalog contains several hundred new unidentified gamma-ray sources, many of which may be MSPs. We request a series of deep observations to search for pulsations in 24 southern sources with pulsar-like gamma-ray spectra.
