This dataset contains demographic and psychological data focused on the self-concept and educational profiles of 161 junior high school students enrolled in two publicly funded High Academic Performance Centers (Centros de Alto Rendimiento Académico, CARA) in the Monterrey metropolitan area, Nuevo León, Mexico (specifically in Santa Catarina and San Nicolás de los Garza). Collected through non-probabilistic purposive sampling, the dataset includes key variables such as age (ranging from 12 to 15 years; M = 13.45, SD = 0.87), gender identity, and the duration of the students' enrollment in high-ability institutions. The files have been systematically cleaned and structured to allow researchers to evaluate the psychological and academic characteristics of high-ability adolescents, serving as a robust baseline for future comparative studies, pedagogical interventions, and educational technology applications in specialized learning environments.
