资源简介:

Analysis of CMS Open Data (2012, 8 TeV, 19.7 fb⁻¹) Evidence for three new scalar resonances observed in CMS 2012 open data; complete analysis code and reproducibility materials included. Key findings H₁(114.5 GeV) → γγγ: 31 events, 3.8σ local significance. Standard Model QED does not reproduce the observed narrow resonant peak at 114.5 GeV. H₂(197.5 GeV) → jj + MET: 60 events, 5.1σ local significance. CMS shows a resonant structure at 197.5 GeV with MET = 123 GeV, while MadGraph SM predicts a smooth distribution with MET = 55 GeV. H₃(143.5 GeV) → jj + MET: 40 events, 4.8σ local significance. CMS shows a resonant structure at 143.5 GeV absent in MadGraph SM. Combined significance: 3.72σ local → ≈2.5σ global after look-elsewhere correction. Implications: A new particle H₁(114.5) → γγγ is required; two new particles H₂(197.5) and H₃(143.5) → jj + invisible are required to explain dijet+MET structures and MET discrepancy. Repository contents Complete analysis code (Python, Bash) Statistical significance pipeline with bump-hunting methodology and look-elsewhere treatment Monte Carlo simulations: MadGraph5 event generation and Delphes CMS detector simulation FeynRules BSM model implementing three scalar singlets Publication-quality figures (6 figures, PNG and PDF) Draft scientific paper (~6,500 words) Compatibility verification with CMS and ATLAS experimental limits Full documentation, intermediate results, and reproduction instructions Data provenance and reproducibility Data source: CMS Open Data 2012, 19.7 fb⁻¹ at √s = 8 TeV. Monte Carlo workflow: MadGraph5 → event samples → Delphes CMS detector simulation. Statistical pipeline includes bump hunting and proper look-elsewhere correction. All scripts, seeds, configuration files, intermediate outputs, and plotting code provided for full reproducibility. Usage notes Repository allows immediate reproduction of figures and significance estimates using the provided scripts. FeynRules model and UFO export are included for event-generation reuse and independent validation. Compatibility checks with existing experimental limits are documented and summarized. Citation and metadata Title: Evidence for Three New Scalar Resonances in CMS 2012 Data: Analysis Code and Results License: CC BY 4.0 DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17355371 🎯 KEY FINDINGS 1. Triphoton γγγ – INCOMPATIBLE with the Standard Model CMS: Narrow resonant peak at 114.5 GeV (31 events) MadGraph SM: Smooth distribution centered at 163.7 GeV Conclusion: ❌ Standard Model QED does not reproduce the observed resonance Implication: A new particle H₁(114.5) → γγγ is required 2. Dijets + MET – PARTIALLY INCOMPATIBLE with the Standard Model CMS: Two resonant peaks at 197.5 GeV and 143.5 GeV, with MET = 123 GeV MadGraph SM: Smooth distribution, MET = 55 GeV (2.2× lower) Conclusion: ⚠️ The SM produces dijets+MET, but lacks resonant structure and insufficient MET Implication: Two new particles H₂(197.5) and H₃(143.5) → jj + invisible are required
