JAPANESE COMPETENCE IN INTERCULTURAL WORKPLACES Experiences of Graduates of University Japanese Programs

This study examined learning and career trajectories of graduates of university Japanese programs, how they use Japanese language and culture-related knowledge and skills for their current job either in Japan or Australia, and how they have acquired and continue to develop their knowledge and skills. This study provides empirical insights into the utility and acquisition of language and culture-related knowledge and skills in workplaces and contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of Japanese language learners’ trajectories and experiences in professional settings.
