Socioeconomic role of Nicaraguan women, 1977-1978

This study focuses on current and retrospective information obtained from 4104 women age 15-45 in Nicaragua. There are four areas of concentration. 1) Economic activity of the respondent and other members of the household; 2) Fertility and contraceptive behavior; 3) Health and nutritional status of family members and use of medical facilities; 4) Other background variables, including marital and migratory status, education, attitudes and intensity of religious observance of the family, parents and spouse of the respondent. Wave I has 700 variables; Wave II has 500, and there are 760 variables in Wave III.
