Annual evolution of the number of level crossings in service on the Infrabel Network by area. A level crossing is a junction between a public or private road and one or more railways. A level crossing with active signalling warns of the approach and/or passage of trains.The Infrabel network is managed in 5 areas : Centre, North-East, North-West, South-East and South-West.When cars, cyclists and pedestrians have to cross the tracks, this always poses risks - because a train cannot just stop.
