Sulfosalicylic acid treatment of rusty soil and its effect on plant growth, iron uptake, biochemical and physiological parameters

Sulfosalicylic acid is an iron chelator and it was used to aid plant iron uptake from rusty soil that consisted of 75% rusty sand from groundwater filtration, 12.5% loamy soil, and 12.5% manure. Growth, iron uptake, biochemical and physiological parameters were assessed to determine suitability of the chemical enhancement of the rusty soil for iron biofortification of sorghum, which was used as a model organism.
