RID2 – Roof Information Dataset for Identifying Roof Segments and Roof Superstructures in Aerial Images

The Roof Information Dataset 2 (RID2) provides annotated aerial images for the semantic segmentation of two types of detailed roof information:

roof segments and their orientation, such as South, West, etc.

roof superstructures, such as chimneys, dormers, etc.

The dataset contains 4764 raw images from 50 regions in the Netherlands and their respective geo-referenced images, roof segment masks and roof superstructure masks. These images are in grid format, i.e. non-overlapping. The dataset also contains 1819 roof-centered images from four of the 50 regions, including their respective geo-referenced images, roof segment masks.

One application of the dataset is the use of the roof information for PV potential analysis based on aerial images.
